Dry Needling is a highly effective treatment technique used to relieve muscular pain and tension. It involves inserting very thin, sterile needles directly into trigger points, tight or irritated spots in the muscle that can cause local or radiating pain. This precise technique helps release muscle tightness, improve blood flow, and stimulate the body’s natural healing processes -without the use of medication.
Dry Needling is particularly beneficial for treating chronic or acute muscle tension, sports injuries, back pain, neck stiffness, and posture-related discomfort. It’s often used by athletes, active individuals, and people with sedentary jobs or stress-related muscle tightness. The treatment is safe, fast-acting, and can be used on its own or in combination with physical therapy.
To enhance the effectiveness of treatment, we often combine dry needling with chiropractic adjustments in what we call the Chiro-Dry-Needling Combo. For instance, if you’ve thrown your back out lifting something or are experiencing a stiff neck, a chiropractic adjustment can quickly resolve the joint blockage but tight muscles may remain. Dry needling helps release those lingering trigger points, speeding up recovery and restoring ease of movement.
In rehabilitation settings, the Physio-Dry-Needling Combo is particularly powerful. After an injury or surgery, surrounding muscles often tense up in a protective pattern. Even after healing, that tension can persist and cause chronic pain or reduced range of motion. Dry needling supports physiotherapy by gently releasing those deep, protective muscle contractions allowing your body to move more naturally again.
